Answer the following in complete sentences:

1. Look at the map on pg. 629: What parts of Europe were controlled by or allied with the Axis by 1941? What parts of Europe were still resisting the Axis

2. How was the battle between Britain and Germany different from the battle between the Soviet Union and Germany (in 1940-41)? 

3. Answer questions 1 and 2 on pg. 643. Define and give the significance of each term in question 1 in complete sentences.

Write two paragraphs on how your country was affected by WWII and fascism. How effective were antifascist movements in your country?

The first episode covers the origins of the war, and reviews much of what we covered on the interwar (consequences of the Treaty of Versailles, weaknesses of the Weimar Republic...).
