Read about your trade and choose two artifacts (pictures, paintings, artifacts) associated with your trade route.

Write a paragraph giving context, history and meaning to each artifact, and explain how it helps us understand your trade route. (You are telling a story that connects your "object" with the history of your trade route).

Bring a printed or digital copy of your artifacts to class.

Trade Route Questions
2 paragraphs

Answer the question you chose to answer this week in your trade route group in at least two paragraphs.

For whichever person you chose, write a short (at least two paragraphs) biographical sketch of that person. Include the following:

·         What were their accomplishments, or how did they impact history?

·         Two significant dates.

·         How did they affect the trade route?

·         Explain the context in which he/she lived.

·         Cite your sources.

Write a beautiful, organized introductory paragraph.

Outline your body paragraphs: Write two sentences for your body paragraphs, A, B and C.

Cite two facts in-text (one in each body paragraph). Create a Works Cited.

Trade Routes: Questions

Answer your 3 questions for this week. Reflect on what you have learned in the last four assignments and write
1. What are the most important things you've learned?
2. How have events you've learned about on your trade route during the time period you've been studying influenced or shaped the modern world?
3. What are three things you still wonder about? (Or three questions you would still like to know the answer to).


On the Right is a video looking at the current relationship between Turkey and Israel. It starts out with a look at Jews in the Ottoman Empire, which relates to what many of you had touched on in your essays when discussing Ottoman religious tolerance.
