Read Chapters 1 and 7 from Howard Zinn, and you will turn in a summary of a news article for your Contemporary Concepts, Conflicts and Concerns.
In Chapter 1, think about how the perspective of this book is different from the perspective presented in the Textbooks we looked at in class.
In Chapter 7, write down in your notebooks everything it attributes to Andrew Jackson. What examples does it give of Jackson's policy towards Native Americans? What were some decisions made by Jackson, and what else did Jackson do?
For Seminar, read the first ten pages of Chapter 7, from page 125 - 135.
